Since 2011, she has collaborated closely with her team of artisans in Rajasthan, India, to produce heirloom-quality textiles using traditional block-printing methods. Each piece reflects not only exceptional craftsmanship but also a commitment to sustaining long-term employment and economic stability for the artisans and their families—a core value of Barton’s business philosophy. Courtney Barton textiles are celebrated for their unexpected prints, vibrant yet balanced color combinations, and the effortless way they elevate interiors with dimension and comfort. Her luxuriously soft cotton Dohar blankets and hand-blocked pillows have cultivated a devoted following, while her shops brim with antique furnishings, art, apothecary goods, home décor, and fashion accessories sourced ethically from around the world. After earning a degree in Textiles & Design from Louisiana State University, Barton honed her skills in New York under Jill Stuart and couturier Ralph Rucci. Years later, living abroad in Malaysia sparked a deep appreciation for global craft traditions and inspired a trove of antique linens and curiosities that became the foundation of her first venture, Mela & Roam . In 2020, Barton transitioned to her eponymous brand—now a beloved destination for those seeking refined textiles and meaningful design. When she’s not enjoying Houston’s vibrant arts, culinary, and local shopping scenes or soaking up Round Top’s slower-paced country fields with her family, Courtney can be found at home with her husband, two boys, and their beloved dogs, Birdie and Juno, happily calling Texas home.
