About Jan Zhang Fine Art
Born in Jiangxi Province, China in 1966, Jan Zhang earned his fine arts degree from Jiangxi University in 1988. After teaching art and exhibiting throughout China, he immigrated to the USA in 1993, settling in East Lansing, Michigan. Working with brushes and palette knife, Zhang creates impressionistic landscapes with a masterful emphasis on capturing light. His philosophy: "Light is the soul of visual artwork." Notable achievements include painting an original mural (35' wide by 15' high) onto the ceiling of the church sanctuary at St. Ann's Church on Mackinac Island. His work has been shown across the US and Canada.
