The Garden Co. began in 1999 when Stevie and Jeff Thompson purchased a small retail nursery in Schulenburg, Texas, moving in 2000 to a 1905 farmhouse on 1.7 acres. The original Schulenburg location is a full-service nursery, landscape, and floral design center with a cafe in the restored farmhouse serving creative salads, fish, and desserts. Their Round Top location, The Garden Company Feed & Firewater, offers a relaxed farm-to-table dining experience with fresh food and innovative cocktails in a rustic yet modern setting at Rummel Square. The Schulenburg cafe is open Monday through Saturday for dine-in or take-out, with the nursery and gift shop open Monday through Saturday 9am to 5pm.
