What Are Round Top Market Days?

Round Top market days — also known as the Round Top antique show, Round Top trade days, or simply “the show” — is the largest outdoor antique and vintage market in the United States. Held twice a year along Highway 237 in Fayette County, Texas, it draws over 100,000 visitors and more than 1,500 vendors across 48 independently operated venues.

Unlike monthly markets such as Canton Trade Days, Round Top market days happen just twice a year: a spring event in late March and early April, and a fall event in late September and October. Each market runs approximately two weeks, with vendors setting up progressively through the first week and the final 5–7 days being the peak. Many of the best vendors arrive mid-week before the official opening weekend.

The market stretches 11 miles between the small towns of Warrenton (at the north end) and Carmine (at the south), with the town of Round Top near the center. Each end of the corridor has a distinct character: Warrenton is open fields and eclectic treasure-hunting; Round Top and Carmine are more curated, gallery-style venues with European imports and designer-quality antiques. Most visitors spend at least one full day on each end.

Market Day Tips

Arrive the week before opening day

Many dealers set up Tuesday–Thursday before the official weekend open. Prices are full price but inventory is fresh and there are no crowds. This is when serious buyers come.

Warrenton first, Round Top second

If you're a treasure hunter or bargain buyer, start at the Warrenton end (north). If you're a decorator or serious collector, start at Round Top and Carmine (south). Most visitors split days between both ends.

Cash and a card

Smaller Warrenton field vendors often prefer cash. Established gallery-style venues and most Round Top vendors take cards. Bring both. ATMs exist but have long lines during peak days.

Walking shoes are non-negotiable

Expect 8–12 miles on your feet across grass, gravel, and packed earth. No matter how good the deal is on those wedge heels at Booth 47, you'll regret wearing them by 10am.

Have a shipping plan before you buy large pieces

Many dealers offer shipping coordination. Several independent shippers operate on-site during the show. Know your plan before falling in love with a $2,000 armoire.

Download the RTF app before you leave home

Cell service on the Highway 237 corridor is genuinely spotty. The Round Top Finder app works offline with GPS, vendor search, venue maps, and favorites. Download it the night before.

What is Round Top market days exactly?+
Round Top market days — also called the Round Top antique show, Round Top trade days, or simply "the show" — is Texas's largest outdoor antique and vintage market. It's not a monthly event: it happens twice a year (spring and fall) along an 11-mile stretch of Highway 237 between the towns of Round Top and Warrenton. Over 1,500 vendors set up across 48 independently owned venues, selling everything from museum-quality European antiques to handmade Texas furniture, vintage clothing, art, and gourmet food.
How is Round Top different from Canton Trade Days?+
Canton First Monday Trade Days near Dallas is a true flea market — thousands of booths, very broad merchandise from tools to housewares to fresh produce, very low price points, monthly schedule. Round Top is a specialized antique and design market with a twice-yearly schedule, significantly higher quality merchandise, and prices ranging from $5 vintage finds to $50,000 European antiques. Round Top draws professional interior designers, collectors, and boutique buyers from across the country. The vibe, price range, and merchandise quality are different, though both are quintessentially Texan outdoor markets.
Is Round Top market days free?+
Most venues at Round Top are free admission with free parking. A few of the larger, more curated venues charge a small entry fee — Marburger Farm charges $15 per person, Big Red Barn charges $10. The majority of the 48+ venues, including all the Warrenton field markets, are completely free. Budget for zero entry costs unless you specifically plan to visit the premium venues.
What can you buy at Round Top market days?+
The range is genuinely staggering. Antiques and vintage: European furniture, American primitives, industrial pieces, vintage signs, silverware, china, art. Contemporary: handmade Texas furniture, custom ironwork, pottery. Fashion: vintage clothing, western wear, handmade jewelry, hats, bags. Home: rugs, lighting, mirrors, textiles. Food: artisan vendors, food trucks, local honey and jams. Live plants and garden antiques. Essentially, if it's beautiful or interesting and someone made it or found it, it's probably at Round Top.

Minimum 2 days to see the major venues; 3 days if you want to cover everything. The market spans 11 miles — you cannot do it in one day unless you pick a specific zone and skip most of it. Day 1: Warrenton end (north) — bigger fields, more eclectic, better deals, great for treasure hunters. Day 2: Round Top and Carmine end — more curated, gallery-style venues, higher price points, European imports. Day 3: revisit favorites, catch what you missed, explore Carmine and La Grange.
Where exactly are Round Top market days held?+

What should I bring to Round Top market days?+
Comfortable walking shoes (you will walk 8–12 miles per day — this is not an exaggeration). Cash for smaller vendors who don't take cards. A way to pay digitally — most established vendors take cards or Venmo. Sunscreen and a hat (the Texas sun is strong, most shopping is outdoors). A wagon or rolling cart if you plan to buy large or heavy items — many vendors have them to borrow. A phone charger or power bank. The Round Top Finder app — cell service is spotty in some areas, and the app works offline with GPS and maps.
Is Round Top market days worth it?+
For the right person, it's one of the best one-of-a-kind shopping experiences in the country. Interior designers treat it as a sourcing trip. Serious collectors plan their calendars around it. First-timers who love vintage, antiques, handmade goods, or just exceptional browsing come back every year. If you like flea markets, estate sales, and antique stores — Round Top is those things at 100x the scale with 100x the quality, held in a beautiful Texas countryside setting. The food alone (Royer's Cafe makes pie that people drive 3 hours for) makes it worth the trip.
